Personal projects I design and ship on my own time. The current one: a complete design system with a naturalist streak.

Quill Design System

Quill is a design system with the language of a creative naturalist: using pressed-cream digital paper, sepia inks, and four pigments used sparingly, like colored pencils. Everything is meant to feel printed, kept and human.

It ships as real code: design tokens in CSS, React components documented in Storybook and themes that come in a warm light mode & walnut-toned dark mode.

Raleway carries body and UI at a 1.7 line height. There is no pure white and no pure black anywhere. Everything sits on digital paper.

After dark
The warmth carries into the evening.

Cream paper becomes dark walnut, the pigments lift to stay legible, and the grain still shows. One attribute flips the whole token layer.
